What they said

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, founder of the UK Fast Growth Index, said:

“Factotum is a great example of the extraordinary talent and ambition we see in businesses across every part of the UK. Earning a place on this year’s Index, alongside firms that have together more than doubled in size in just two years, is a remarkable achievement, and the whole team should be very proud.

“At a time when we hear so much about the challenges facing the UK economy, businesses like Factotum show what is possible when they are given the chance to grow. The challenge now is to help more of them become those incredible high-growth businesses that make a massive impact across the country.”

Bobby Lane, Global CEO of Factotum, said:

“Being recognised on the Index for a second year running is a big moment for Factotum. What started as an ambitious idea has grown into something special, with a great team and now an international presence. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and of how we deliver for our clients every day. We’ve come a long way in a short time, but what excites me most is the opportunity still ahead. We’re building something different, and I’m excited for what comes next.

What is the UK Fast Growth Index?

The UK Fast Growth Index lists the 350 fastest-growing independent businesses across the UK’s nations and regions. It is run by Ideas Community in partnership with UBS.

Businesses are ranked by percentage growth in turnover between 2022/23 and 2024/25. Together, this year’s 350 businesses have more than doubled in size, with combined turnover rising from £4.3 billion in 2023 to £10.2 billion in 2025.

To qualify, a business must:

  • Have turnover of at least £250,000 in 2022/23 and £1 million in 2024/25
  • Be independent, not a subsidiary or division of another company
  • Trade from one of the UK’s seven nations and regions

Figures are checked against Companies House data or by each business’s accountants. The Index is made up of the top 50 businesses in each nation and region, plus a UK Top 200.

How Factotum works with clients

Our growth comes from the way we work with clients. Factotum is one company, filled with talent across six services. We don’t work as a supplier on the side. We work as part of our clients’ teams.

  • One relationship. Every client has one main point of contact, not a group of people to chase over email.
  • Senior people who stay. The people who plan the work stay to deliver it.
  • Breadth and depth. Clients get specialist skills across as many areas as they need, from one company.
  • No tie-in. Clients can work with one service or several, for strategy, delivery or both. There’s no long-term contract and no notice period.
