What got Hayley started

Hayley’s career in HR began more than 20 years ago while working at Sainsbury’s. Originally from a retail background, she found herself moving into HR by chance and quickly discovered a passion for supporting people and helping businesses navigate change. Over the years, she has built experience across every area of HR, from recruitment, training and coaching to wellbeing, employee relations and senior leadership. As her career progressed, she moved into increasingly strategic roles, leading teams and supporting organisations through complex people challenges across a range of industries.

Hayley is an experienced HR leader with more than two decades of experience supporting organisations across the retail, digital and professional services sectors. Throughout her career, she has worked in both national and international roles, leading HR teams while delivering strategic guidance across recruitment, employee relations, organisational design, wellbeing, talent development, restructures and business transformation. As Head of Client Operations, HR Services, she enjoys the variety that comes with supporting multiple organisations, helping clients tackle everything from disciplinary matters and restructures to improving company culture, retention and employee engagement.

Alongside her strategic expertise, Hayley enjoys remaining hands-on, working closely with clients to deliver practical solutions tailored to their individual needs. A career highlight was creating and rolling out an internal talent division for a growing business, helping develop home-grown talent, strengthen succession planning and significantly improve employee retention. Her combination of strategic thinking, commercial understanding and approachable leadership allows her to build lasting partnerships while helping businesses create stronger, more engaged workplaces.
