We’re Hiring – Senior Client Services Manager – Finance

The Opportunity:

Factotum is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Client Services Manager in Finance to join our growing team. This leadership role is perfect for someone who enjoys managing people, improving processes, and taking a strategic view of client finances. You’ll oversee a portfolio of clients and manage a team that may include bookkeepers, part-qualified accountants, and junior client service managers, supporting both day-to-day delivery and long-term planning.

As a Senior Client Services Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive timely, accurate, and insightful financial support, while mentoring your team and working closely with senior leadership to manage resource allocation and performance. You’ll be a key contact for clients and external auditors, and you’ll support a high standard of compliance and quality assurance across the board.

Your day-to-day might involve:

• Reviewing working papers and reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Preparing and submitting management account packs and creating budgets and cashflows.
• Leading on weekly client cash calls and making payments on their behalf.
• Managing relationships with clients and external auditors.
• Supporting your team through mentoring, appraisals, and performance management.
• Flagging and resolving resourcing issues.
• Ensuring compliance with ICAEW and financial regulations.
• Providing commercial insight, risk analysis, and identifying growth opportunities for clients.

About you:

You’re confident, detail-oriented, and commercially minded, with a track record of managing finance teams and client portfolios. You bring a hands-on approach when needed but are equally comfortable stepping back to provide strategic input. You understand how to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and you thrive in a fast-paced, solution-focused environment.

It would be helpful to have:

• A recognised professional qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, or CIMA) or significant experience in an equivalent role.
• Excellent working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, and other relevant tools.
• Strong understanding of accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with app stacks such as XPM, Dext, ApprovalMax, Stripe, Shopify, or Cin7.
• An interest in business development and helping clients grow.
• Experience dealing with insolvency situations and high-level financial decision-making.
