What got Marios started

Marios’ career in recruitment began somewhat unexpectedly. After returning from a stint coaching football abroad, he wasn’t entirely sure what he wanted to do next, but he knew he enjoyed working with people, building relationships and helping others achieve their goals. Recruitment offered the perfect combination of those things, alongside the opportunity to solve problems for businesses. He quickly discovered that he thrived on understanding what people and organisations really needed and finding solutions that created value for both clients and candidates.

Marios is a senior finance recruitment specialist with more than 20 years of experience connecting businesses with exceptional finance and treasury talent. Having help senior positions across both FTSE organisations and scale-ups, he has developed a deep understanding of the finance function and the people businesses need to support their growth.

One project Marios is particularly proud of involved an owner-managed FMCG business looking to make its first finance hire. By taking the time to understand the business and look beyond the initial brief, he identified that what they really needed was a more strategic finance leader. The Finance Director he placed went on to scale the business and build out the finance team, demonstrating Marios’ belief that great recruitment starts with understanding the problem, not simply filling the vacancy.
